How to delete your Bento account

Delete via App (Recommended)

The easiest way to delete your account is directly through the Bento app:

Open the Bento app and go to Settings from the profile menu

Scroll down to the "Account" section

Tap on "Delete Account" option

Confirm Deletion

Type "DELETE" to confirm and complete the process

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email. Send an email with subject "Account Deletion Request" including your registered phone number.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Bento mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Definitions

  • "User" refers to any person using the Bento App
  • "Mess" refers to food service providers registered on our platform
  • "Subscription" refers to meal plans arranged through the App
  • "Order" refers to individual meal requests

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account
  • Not share your account with others

4. Services

4.1 Food Discovery

Bento provides a platform connecting users with mess providers. We are not responsible for the quality, preparation, or delivery of food, which remains the responsibility of the individual mess providers.

4.2 Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are non-transferable
  • Unused meals do not carry forward unless specified by mess
  • Subscription prices are set by individual mess owners
  • Cancellation policies are set by individual messes

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Harass or abuse mess owners or other users
  • Post false reviews or ratings
  • Attempt to manipulate the platform or prices
  • Share false information or impersonate others
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
  • Use bots or automated systems

6. Payments & Refunds

6.1 Payment Terms

Important: Bento does NOT process any payments. All payments are made directly between you and the mess owner via:

  • Cash payment at the mess location
  • Direct UPI transfer to mess owner
  • Direct bank transfer to mess owner

We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment or financial information.

6.2 Refund Policy

  • Refund policies are set by individual mess owners
  • Any refund requests should be addressed directly to the mess owner
  • Bento is not responsible for payment disputes between users and mess owners

7. QR Code & Meal Verification

For subscriptions, meal verification is done via QR code scanning. You must:

  • Present valid QR code at the mess for each meal
  • Not share or duplicate your QR code
  • Report any QR code issues immediately
  • Accept that missed scans may result in meal forfeit

8. Reviews & Ratings

When posting reviews, you agree to:

  • Provide honest and fair feedback
  • Not post defamatory or abusive content
  • Not accept compensation for fake reviews
  • Allow us to moderate or remove inappropriate content

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App (including logos, text, graphics, and software) are owned by Bento and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Quality or safety of food from mess providers
  • Accuracy of mess information or menu details
  • Availability of messes or specific food items

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bento shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to food-related illnesses, allergic reactions, or order issues.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App ceases immediately
  • Active subscriptions may be cancelled
  • You will lose access to your order history

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pune, Maharashtra.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
